May 2022 update

Just to let you know that the total of Guiding miles completed on the Shropshire Way now exceeds 1700 with just a few sections that need to be completed on the Stretton Skyline part before we’ll have done the entire route between us.   There’s still time to take part, it would be great if we could get our Guiding miles total up to 2000 by the end of the challenge next Thinking Day.

Recent walks have included ten of us, including the Midlands Region Walking Adviser tackling the Gaer Stones and Caer Caradoc which was quite tough with the 50mph gusts of wind at the top of the hill making progress quite challenging.

By contrast we’ve also done a gentle canal side route between Queens Head and Llanymynech where there were several geocaches to be found.

If anyone would like to join one of our walks please get in touch with Jo Revell Walking Adviser on jorevell1@icloud.com.  You can, of course, take part in the challenge by walking any part of the main route of the Shropshire way with or without your unit.
